Aviary Ghost is one of those bands you may not have heard yet but really should. Emerging quickly on the Chicago scene and generating substantial Internet buzz, the band has crafted an earnest but complex kind of music that is difficult to classify. They draw from genres from the world over, including jazz, cabaret, rock and roll, folk, and even bossa nova. It may seem difficult to imagine a cohesive sound coming from such disparate influences, but Aviary Ghost always focuses on one thing over the others: a consistency of songwriting vision and voice. Combining thoughtful, literary lyrics with intricate melodies and harmonies on 2008's album Memory is a Hallway, the band is now working on their second full-length which will be released in 2010.

Though the band began in 2004 with Charlie Crimando and Stephen Kemsley in a small apartment in Michigan, Aviary Ghost is now playing dynamic live shows in some of Chicago's most beloved venues. Their live performances always represent the deft songwriting and unique soundscapes of their recorded music, but Aviary Ghost is never afraid to experiment with their music to make for a truly memorable live experience.
