Spanish Style Left Handed Acoustic
One of the most challenging requirements as a lefty six string beginner is finding a decent instrument to play. This is especially true if you aren't exactly rich and funds are tight. When I came across the Valencia lefty acoustic guitar deal, I rejoiced. This was not only a guitar it is a package that anyone would need to start out as a left handed guitar student.
Well-known Spanish Model Guitar
First, there is the guitar itself. Realize that this is a Spanish style six string guitar, so the strings are standard nylon, not steel. It should be noted that steel strings can NOT be fitted on this Spanish style guitars due to the bridge type, tuners and nut. This guitar is exclusively nylon string.
This is rather a small-scale model dreadnought guitar body style at a total of 38" from the end of guitar body to the tip of the headstock. The neck joins the guitar body at about the 12th fret and offers 18 frets overall. With a 25" scale, anyone can see that the entire body can be a bit modest, but which is not always a bad thing. This particular guitar is about bass sound, not size.
Guitar sound Excellence
As far as sound goes, this Valencia left handed acoustic guitar is a sonic masterpiece in its price range (below $175 in most shops). The styling is commonly found in guitars twice the price. Around the sound hole is a decorative rosette that offsets the finish nicely. Now the small body works in conjunction with that small stature neck to produce some lovely bass tones and keeps the higher notes crisp. Not Gibson or Fender crisp, but nice nevertheless.
Adding to the value is the Natowood fret board and bridge, Basswood back and sides and the top is (I believe) maple. These materials are used in guitars of high quality, so the added value is easy to see. The sound is transferred evenly and smoothly from the neck to the body via a set joint neck. This allows the vibrations from the neck to be enhanced by the body and directed to the sound hole almost instinctively.
What else in the Package Deal?
This left handed acoustic guitar is complete with a nylon carry bag and an instructional DVD to round out the deal. All you need is a pick and a little time to learn a few things and you are of and strumming. Again, keep in mind that this is a classical Spanish left handed acoustic guitar package and the focus is classical Flamenco style sounds emanating from nylon strings.
For Beginners
This guitar can be a fantastic deal for all beginners or hobby participants. Especially for teenagers that decide they want a six string and then leave it in the corner unused after a few sessions. Nonetheless, it can be an excellent little musical instrument that gives value, decent sound and quality resources at a low price.
I have already been playing for over twenty years myself and would absolutely acquire this specific Spanish styling guitar, with the nylon string tone as a bonus. Get yourself a left handed acoustic deal to start your journey into musicianship.
