Striped Bass - Learn some tips and info to help you catch more
Striped Bass are mostly silver, to silver-grayish in color, and sometimes they become olive in color or even chalky green hued. They have dark lines that run from behind the gills to the end of their bodies, and their bellies tend to be milky white to chalky white in color. Striped Bass spawn in late spring to early summer, depending upon where you live, and the water temperature.
Striped Bass have risen up the ranks, to become one of the hottest game fish for many fishermen, they live in major rivers, and inland reservoirs, that are not vary far from coastlines. Striped Bass can be caught using the same methods used for largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Some of the live baits that may be used to catch them are; worms, herring, minnows, shad, mackerel and small eels being some of the favorites. Striped Bass eat during the daytime, but not very much, they really become active and forage for food during the night, and on very cloudy days, so keep this is mind when fishing for them.
Striped Bass also like to hang around debris that is in the deep water, such as fallen trees, stumps and weeds. Some of the favorite lures that are used to catch them are; Large Plugs, Poppers, Deep diving spoons, artificial fish lures, and lures that resemble small eels.
