Can You Play Rock Guitar with an Acoustic Guitar?
Most people play rock guitar with a distorted electric guitar. Acoustic guitars are perceived to be for singer songwriters, ballads, parties or folk music. But playing rock guitar on an acoustic can add texture, colour and moods to your music.
Take the punk rock band, Green Day, they have had acoustic guitars on some of their top hits, they are not perceived as in any way as playing folk or quiet ballads. They inject energy into their acoustic songs. Many of the classic rock songs of the last 40 years had had acoustic guitars in them.
